Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this full-time position directs, administers, and manages the construction of commercial office spaces and manufacturing facilities. This position requires an individual experienced in commercial tenant improvements to join our team. The role serves as the company’s principal representative on assigned projects, overseeing all matters related to construction coordination, quality control, planning, and scheduling.
This full time, contracted position requires 100% on site.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Establishes project requirements based on contract documents, considering factors such as cost, materials, safety, schedules, and appropriate methods and procedures. Monitors project cost, quality, and schedule.Provides guidance and leadership, coordinating the activities of subcontractors to ensure successful project completion, including managing changes in scope, costs, and schedules.Manages the project using short-term schedules derived from the master schedule provided by the construction manager. Prepares scheduling reports that compare the master schedule with actual job progress, enabling proactive schedule management to meet project contract requirements.Meets with subcontractors and vendors weekly to coordinate scheduling, approve alternates, and address material changes or shortages.Maintains a daily report documenting weather conditions, construction progress, type of work performed, and other pertinent information, such as delays.Maintains complete and up-to-date job files, including correspondence, contracts, budgets, and other documents throughout the project lifecycleAccountable for the overall success of the project(s), measured by schedule adherence, subcontractor motivation, financial performance, team collaboration, and the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.Performs other related duties as assignedQualified candidates must possess :
Educational and Experience Requirements :
2-year degree in Project Management or equivalent, depending on field experienceExtensive experience and knowledge of commercial construction, specifically in commercial tenant improvementsAbility to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize sub-contractor / employee performanceComputer skills required (Microsoft Office Suites)Additional Requirements :
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activitiesSuperior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)Managerial Scope :
Coordinate and assist in supervising 6 to 15 sub-contractors in daily construction activities for commercial office space and manufacturing facilitiesComments :
