We're looking for you to join our team as a First Nations, Staff Accountant , in Edmonton, AB.

At KPMG, we specialize in serving the distinct needs of Indigenous communities, building strong relationships, and fostering successful outcomes.

As a Staff Accountant working with First Nations clients, you’ll play a key role in helping clients manage risk and uncover opportunities for growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities :

• Apply KPMG’s audit and accounting practices to client engagements.
• Partner with First Nations clients and Indigenous-led organizations to meet specialized accounting and reporting needs.
• Conduct external and internal financial statement audits for public and private entities.
• Provide guidance to field engagement teams and mentor junior staff.
• Analyze complex accounting issues and financial systems.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including travel to First Nations communities.

Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit

• Strong oral / written communication skills
• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification in Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation
• Experience with a public accounting firm
• Experience working directly with Indigenous communities, governments and associations with previous experience and technical knowledge to the benefit of the client
• Experience with ASPE and ASNPO
• Strong creative and analytical problem-solving abilities
