We're looking for you to join our team as a First Nations, Staff Accountant , in Edmonton, AB.

As a Staff Accountant working with First Nations clients, you’ll play a key role in helping clients manage risk and uncover opportunities for growth and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Apply KPMG’s audit and accounting practices to client engagements.
- Partner with First Nations clients and Indigenous-led organizations to meet specialized accounting and reporting needs.
- Conduct external and internal financial statement audits for public and private entities.
- Provide guidance to field engagement teams and mentor junior staff.
- Analyze complex accounting issues and financial systems.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including travel to First Nations communities.

Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit
- Strong oral / written communication skills
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation
- Experience with a public accounting firm
- Experience working directly with Indigenous communities, governments and associations with previous experience and technical knowledge to the benefit of the client
- Experience with ASPE and ASNPO
- Strong creative and analytical problem-solving abilities
