The opportunity
Within EY's Technology Risk practice, we are currently seeking a Senior Manager to lead and manage third party assurance engagements, specifically SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, as well as other IT compliance services.
You will be part of the senior management team that will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of SOC engagements.
You may also serve as a Senior Manager on other Technology Risk engagements, as needed.
Your key responsibilities :
This candidate will be required to participate in our Technology Risk services offering. This includes, but is not limited to :
- SOC Reporting - Lead SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements under CSAE3416 / 3000, SSAE18, or ISAE 3402
- Business Development - take an active role in developing market awareness of EY's SOC services; further developing relationships with our clients;
identifying and leading pursuit opportunities; leading the development of marketing materials, proposals, presentations, and research.
- Internal Controls Attestations - Focus on reviewing management's assertions over their business processes and IT governance, risk and controls.
- Work with the engagement team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent to the engagement.
- Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations.
- Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology / tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
- Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients.
- Play an active role in resource management, team development and training related activities.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have :
- A minimum of 8 years of experience (post-graduation) working as an auditor for a public accounting firm or have equivalent systems / technology experience
- Extensive SOC reporting experience, as well as experience with IT Audit methodologies (internal and external audits)
- A strong understanding of the requirements set under CPA Canada, AICPA and ISAE, as it pertains to SOC reporting
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Commerce, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another relevant program
- Possess relevant IT / audit designation(s) (e.g. CPA, CISA, CRISC)
- Proven ability to teach and develop your team's knowledge as it relates to CPA and AICPA reporting standards.
- Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated, committed self-starter
- Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
