RESPONSIBILITIES :
Utilizing Solidworks, carry out the design of automationEnsure all systems are designed with an emphasis on appropriate controls and guarding to assure 100% compliance with industry best practices relating to productivity and safetyUndertake a comprehensive, “hands-on” approach working collaboratively with production technicians, maintenance and design engineering providing support, guidance and leadership in automation development and optimization on all new and existing automation cells.Provide support, guidance and leadership in automation development and optimization on all new and existing automation cells.Utilizing existing stoppage, yield and productivity KPI’s, prioritize, plan, organize and lead continuous improvement / optimization of machinery, tools and automation to maintain world class levels of efficiencies, yields and up time.Utilizing existing stoppage, yield and productivity KPI’s, prioritize, plan, organize and lead continuous improvement / optimization of machineryIdentify problem root cause, analysis of options through to implementation and monitoring of permanent, irreversible corrective measures.Create detailed project plans based on established priorities to ensure timely implementation and close out of Automation CITeam identify and approve possible design changes to optimize existing machinery and automated work centers.Lend support as needed on any issues relating to machinery or automation in productionAssume ownership for problem resolution and optimization of current and future automation cells in developmentsupport of APQP / PPAP activities to ensure full production readinessMentor and coach technical team on problem definition, root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.Work hands-on during machine builds as required.QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be highly technical and comfortable with mechanical, electrical and mechatronic productsExpert in SolidWorks5-10 years of experience in automation design, machine build & troubleshootingExcellent project management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead problem solving using a “hands-on” approach.Excellent leadership and organizational skillsEffective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with others throughout or organizationDemonstrated success in machine / production line integration within tight budgetary / time constraints.Flexibility : This role will require the individual to be flexible in their day-to-day work as assignmentsREQUIREMENTS :
Engineering degree or technology diploma (mechanical / electro-mechanical / mechatronics preferred),Proficiency in SolidWorks5-10 years of experience in automation design, machine build & troubleshooting
