The Opportunity :
Terra’s Junior Project Manager (Jr. PM) in our Civil Department is responsible for projects of multiple sizes and scales and drives them from inception through to completion. Terra’s ideal future PM at Civil has previous project management experience regarding private pipe & offsite work, coupled with estimating experience. Terra’s Project Manager is in charge of overseeing Civil Construction Projects and uses his / her wide-array of skills to effectively manage and run said projects. Our Project Manager - Civil, Pipe & Offsite reports to Terra’s Senior Project Manager.
A day in the life of the Junior Project Manager - Civil, Pipe & Offsite - roles and responsibilities :
- Oversee projects from inception through to completion
- Prepare, schedule, estimate, and submit bid estimates and proposals for civil projects
- Prepare, execute, and negotiate contracts with different stakeholders
- Ideally coordinates, manages, plans and executes projects on time and within budget and scope
- Prepare, plan, and execute project schedules, productivity, and timelines by collaborating and directing field superintendents, foremen, and staff.
- Develops, monitors, updates, and manages changes to project schedule, project budget and scope using appropriate tactics, techniques, and strategies
- Perform ongoing risk management to minimize potential risks with project, client and stakeholders
- Manage and maintain relationships with various stakeholders including but not limited to : clients, owners, subcontractors, consultants, architects, engineers, safety officers, laborer's, foremen, superintendents, executives, accountants, and administrators
- Creates, manages and maintains comprehensive filing for projects
- Create, compile, negotiate, resolve, and submit change orders tactfully and smoothly
- Negotiate, resolve and close out any outstanding change orders, quality issues or disputes
- Process, track, and review incoming invoices from suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors
- Process and track outgoing invoices, payments, holdback payments, etc. along with preparing and submitting project accounting reports and budget
- Track, record, and ensure project documentation and compliance on Terra’s construction software (HCSS)
- Arrange, attend, and conduct meetings with various stakeholders to effectively carry out the project scope and schedule
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the project, including the budget, schedule, operational needs, procedures, client standards, QA / QC program requirements, as well as individual roles and responsibilities on the field
- Establish and oversee project close out documentation and processes
- Other tasks and duties as and when required
