Key Areas of Responsibility :
- The Electrician is responsible for the installation and commissioning of conveyor belts, including the services and utilities required for the conveyors, including, but not limited to Services (power, fire suppression, controls, etc) required for the conveyors; replace all required electrical equipment in a MCC room; and reticulated power, plant air and water line along the length of the conveyor and perform any one or more of the following tasks,
Work collaboratively with other trades personnel and crew members
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codesRead and interpret electrical diagrams and plansTroubleshoot equipment using testers and by referring to wiring diagrams and schematicsIsolate electrical power to equipment for others as required in accordance to the Project lock out proceduresFollow established procedures in shutting down and disassembling equipment, replacing damaged or worn parts and reassembling and testing equipment to perform to required specificationsInspect, adjust and report any condition that may cause premature breakdownsOther such duties as may be assignedGeneral Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensure full understanding and compliance with company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other local regulatory requirementsHave the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environmentFully supports and actively participates in the team safety program based on culture and innovationEnsure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe by virtue of a defect, or a machine of which any protection system is inoperative, is not used and communicated to the supervisorWork closely with other crew members to create and maintain a synergy required to accomplish the shift line-up in the cycleDevelop applicable risk assessments, procedures and work standards for all tasksEnsure applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood, adhered to and complied at all times for all such workMaintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplaceUtilize all safety systems as specified within the site safety management systemPre-Employment Qualifications :
Pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testingCriminal Record Check (if applicable)Possess a valid Journeyperson Electrician CertificateRegistered in Ontario as an Electrician considered an assetFull Basic Underground Common Core an assetMinimum 3 years of work related experience as a licensed Journeyperson ElectricianSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities :
