We’re looking for a 3D Technical Animator to join the Bitmoji team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do :

Animation of 3D Characters and props in Autodesk Maya performed in accordance with time limits based on storyboards, draft cut and instructions of project lead

Diagnose and fix problems as related to animation processes

Support the development of tools that optimize animation production processes

Collaborate with concept artists, storyboard artists, modelers, VFX artists, prototypers, and engineers

Rig a wide range of props and character rigs using Autodesk Maya

Painting of skin weights for deformation

Collaborate with artists, animators, and engineers to ensure assets meet technical needs

Help troubleshoot and QA animation and technical issues for assets to move through the pipeline

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Proficiency in conveying a character’s state of mind, emotion and intention

Ability to solve technical problems as related to animation and character setup

Utilize your rigging expertise to tackle diverse animation challenges

Have good intuition on timing, spacing, and acting in 3D animation

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree in 3D Animation, Classical Animation, or equivalent years of experience

3+ years of experience in character animation and rigging

3+ years of experience working with Maya

Preferred Qualifications :

Proficient in Python scripting

Experience creating or building rigging and animation tools

Experience in motion capture and motion capture cleanup

Experience making comics and / or short-form animated content

Experience with Lens Studio
