Hour of work : Monday to Friday 7 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm plus on-call

What you'll be doing
- Plan, design, estimate and interpret drawings
- Work on renovation projects or new equipment installations according to standard practice, manufacturer's recommendation and / or departmental policy and procedure
- Maintain, repair, fabricate and perform scheduled maintenance on building components and designated equipment including : building envelope (roof, walls, windows & screens), insulation, plaster, drywall, caulking, sheet metal, furniture, doors and hardware, trim, cabinet, ceilings, flooring, signage
- Maintain door locks and key control system according to department policy
What we're looking for
- Province of Ontario Carpentry License
- 7-10 years of appropriate building maintenance experience including : demolition, framing using steel and wood studs, installation of doors and hardware, trim, plaster, drywall, masonry, paint and caulk, repairs to building envelope (roof, walls, windows & screens), fabrication of cabinets and shelving, furniture repair
- Previous experience with Guelph building permit process
- Ability to take lead on projects including design support, schedule development, scope of work, methods and materials
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate and maintain power tools used in carpentry operations
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to work independently safely with little supervision
