Accountant

Reporting to the VP of Finance at our home office, this position administers all financial transactions from deposits to payments. Responsibilities include preparing the full-cycle accounts payable function, assisting with year-end audit, adhering to policies and procedures; finding opportunities to streamline processes, and adhoc projects as assigned. To be successful in this position you must have a high attention to detail, and driven to improve and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

Administer and manage full-cycle accounts payable

Identify cost-saving initiatives

Ensure bank payments are timely

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account schedules

Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closings processes

Gatekeeper of GL and Financial Statement entries

Work within the accounting team to meet financial close deadlines

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable

Report on the company’s health and liquidity

Audit financial transactions and documents

Comply with financial policies and regulations

Financial data confidentiality and database backups as required

Additional duties as assigned

Education & Qualifications

BA and / or MA in Accounting or related field

Working towards a professional qualification (for example, CPA or CFA designations)

Previous experience as a Financial Accountant; in a multi-unit environment is preferred

Advanced Excel user

Extensive understanding of accounting principles and KPIs

Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skill
