This position is not just for everyone. We are not hiring just a class 1 driver with experience, you will need to have commitment to patience and thorough training- no shortcuts or policy violations. This is a physical job, so you must be able to lift / move up to 70 pounds and be compliance with our Drug & alcohol program and those client sites you will be delivering fuel too.

JOB SUMMARY
The Driver Trainer, in collaboration with the Director of operations, is responsible for the required evaluation of new hire candidates and field orientation training of new hire AFD drivers. The Driver Trainer will be assigned to re-training and certification of current AFD drivers and evaluated drivers as a corrective action post incident. The driver trainer will also work with new M.E.L.T Program graduates to develop throughout a Driver Readiness Program. The driver trainer will also take an active role in driver safety meetings, FLHA follow up with incident corrective actions, and customer site inspections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Train new candidates with limited or no experience on the fundamentals of loading, unloading and handling liquid bulk equipment operation;Develop, update and provide continual improvement for training and assessment programs;Coordinate the simulator fleet in terms of maintenance, software updates, upgrades and technical support;Work with operations to ensure consistent training process for all trainees;A Team player with an ability to take initiative and identify and / or recommend process / service improvements to management;Ability to lead, coach and motivate;Ability to adhere to all corporate policies and act as an advocate concerning these policies;Work with recruiting to support the recruitment process through providing industry and equipment knowledge, engaging candidates directly and assisting in planned industry events;Conduct and document required classroom and behind-the-wheel training for drivers and re-training as needed;Perform ongoing annual and post collision driver evaluations;Assist in new candidate selection through pre-employment check rides;Instruct classroom material and put trainees through various simulator programming on Mobile Training Unit (training provided);Review FLHA identified by drivers and identify corrective action or alternative solutions;Conduct site visits of new and current customer locations.The driver Trainer shall ensure the site maps are updated and identify current hazards that a driver may encounter.Based on customer location, remoteness, mountain access or limited space establish a site grading profile that works in complement with driver grading score card.Ability to be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities.Work with marketing to create trade show programOperate Mobile Simulator during trade showsEmergency responseTrain new candidates with limited to no experience on the fundamental of shifting, driving, operating in variations of equipmentTrain and certify field driver trainersIf you thrive on mentoring and take pride in seeing others excel, we want you on our team!
