Job description

The Maintenance Electrician inspects maintains repairs and installs mechanical electromechanical pneumatic and / or hydraulic equipment at plant and / or pump stations.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Repair maintain install replace troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps conveyors belts fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments;
  • Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution;
  • Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
  • Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
  • Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
  • Work from engineering drawings rough sketches manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications;
  • Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards;
  • Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate followup communication;
  • Disassemble machines and repair / replace / adjust parts accordingly;
  • Clean and lubricate equipment parts and machinery;
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
  • May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion;
  • Assist coworkers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.

Qualifications :

Knowledge Skills and Experience :

  • Valid 442A Electrician Licence and / or a Valid 433A Millwright Licence .

    • Dual Tickets while not required are valued and holders will receive an additional premium .

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in Industrial Maintenance preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting repairing maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner.
  • Strong problem solving planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read write and speak).
  • Experience with a variety of machinery vehicles material handling equipment hand and power tools preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
  • Must be deadline oriented reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations
  • Must Work well with others and possess good hand eye coordination.
  • Must be comfortable rotating throughout the facility as required.

  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Fastpaced environment Repetitive tasks physically demanding and attention to detail.
  • Work Site Environment : Can get dusty recycling odour.
  • Transportation / Travel Information : Own transportation
  • Shifts (2) : Monday Friday; 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM & 2 : 00 PM 10 : 30 PM Overtime; two weeks days then switch to two weeks afternoons. Incumbent must be flexible in their availabilities according to the operational need.
