Position Overview :
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of power transmission and distribution projects and managing construction progress in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, consistent with commercial contracts. Duties will include successful initiation, planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, control and close-out for all projects.
Requirements
1. Lead strategic project management for sizable and intricate power transmission and distribution endeavors.
2. Oversee and manage all phases of the Project Management Lifecycle, maintaining a thorough understanding of all contractual elements and the specific scope of work involved.
3. Create and evaluate construction plans, monitoring the progress of assigned projects to ensure timely delivery within the expected quality and cost parameters. Implement corrective measures if there is a significant divergence from the schedule or budget.
4. Provide the VP of Operations and Regional Operations Managers with regular, precise progress updates that include suggestions for improving schedules and budgets wherever feasible.
5. Make authoritative decisions on behalf of Arctic Arrow regarding any regulated electrical work.
6. Ensure that all Arctic Arrow offices and yards in your area are maintained professionally.
7. Implement Arctic Arrow’s policy decisions across all levels of accountability.
8. Oversee, supervise, and organize the activities of all project personnel and subcontractors to ensure effective coordination of the construction process. Organize and manage site personnel and physical assets to meet construction milestones.
9. Direct the change management process (identification, notification, and resolution) across multiple projects. Engage with clients regarding additional work and progress payments, ensuring the most favorable terms. Make sure that specifications are fully understood and leveraged to Arctic Arrow's advantage.
10. Efficiently manage project budgets by identifying and employing effective construction strategies.
11. Inspire and develop project staff through strong leadership, teamwork, training, and personal growth opportunities.
12. Foster and sustain positive business relationships with current and prospective clients. Identify emerging market opportunities.
13. Guiding projects effectively through all internal and external processes.
14. Take charge of overall project scope, scheduling, and budgeting.
15. Be accountable for the formulation and management of project plans.
16. Create detailed and precise project estimates and timelines as necessary.
17. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing status updates as required.
18. Evaluate project risks and proactively devise mitigation strategies.
19. Collaborate with the VP of Operations to ensure project timelines and costs are monitored and align with the established plan.
20. Ensure that all projects are sufficiently resourced. Foster capability development through the effective identification and recruitment of additional personnel.
21. Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and general / sub-contractors, both during work hours and through professional networking opportunities outside of work.
22. Assist in the ongoing monitoring and management of all projects to predict costs, secure approvals, identify trends, and implement actions to prevent cost overruns.
23. Establish project quality requirements.
24. Ensure that appropriate systems are established and applied on each project.
25. Prepare and / or review reports for management, clients, or other stakeholders.
26. Ensure the safety of all personnel on project sites under your jurisdiction.
27. Oversee contract management.
