Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Manager of Software Development , reporting to the Senior Manager of Software development.

This position is a first level manager role in support of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) organization.

In this role you will lead an Agile software development team and work within and across the Analytics Solutions integrated product team (IPT) and the portfolio of products and services.

Position Responsibilities :

Manages employees and contractors performing software development activities.

In partnership with product management, develops and executes integrated portfolio plans, including portfolio business and technical strategies, goals and priorities.

Acquires resources for product development activities and oversees purchased services deliverables.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Ensures adherence to software quality, safety and other compliance requirements.

Implements software development methodologies to achieve efficiency and quality goals

Manages, develops and motivates employees. Recruits new team members.

Effective organization, teamwork, and collaboration skills to work productively in a cross-functional, multi-level environment with shifting priorities and requirements.

Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to interface with executive leadership, enterprise workforce, and internal / external customers or partners

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Must be legally able to work in Canada

7+ years of experience in software product development and delivery

5+ years of experience in a software development leadership role

Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education / Experience) :

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Experience in a software development management role

Agile software development experience

Experience with Cloud development

Experience with Databricks

Familiar with modern, large scale data management systems and architecture; basic understanding of challenges in large scale, complex data management;

Relocation :

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information :

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
