About the role
Join the External Affairs Team in the Communications & Marketing sector, in the senior officer, communications and Marketing position.
In this role, you will be part of the team delivering federal government visibility events as part of the Government of Canada’s communications objective of demonstrating how the National Housing Strategy is best supporting the housing affordability needs of people living in Canada.
What you’ll do :
- Support the Specialist in strategizing, planning, preparing, and executing visibility opportunities via various media events and announcements in different markets across Eastern Canada.
- Lead the development and implementation of communications products and logistics for virtual and / or on-site media events.
- Ensure quality control of all communications products related to ministerial events, announcements, and visibility opportunities.
- Ensure accurate reporting and data entry management.
- Manage relationships with vendors delivering services in support of visibility events.
- Manage time efficiently and effectively in order to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with tight deadlines.
- Participate in regular check-ins with CMHC project teams to review upcoming housing visibility and announcement opportunities.
What you should have :
- An undergraduate degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, marketing, political science, public affairs, public administration, among others.
- A minimum of three years' experience in communications and / or public affairs.
- Strong oral and written communications skills in both official languages (English and French), with the ability to present information to a variety of audiences and influence outcomes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
- The availability and flexibility to travel across the country on a frequent basis and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Housing industry knowledge, along with an understanding of Canada’s political system.
