Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care : Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient conditions, and documenting care plans.
  • Health Assessments : Conduct assessments to monitor and report changes in patients' health conditions, collecting relevant health information and updating medical records accurately.

  • Wound Care and Dressing : Perform wound assessments, clean and dress wounds, and provide appropriate care to prevent infections and promote healing.
  • Patient Education and Support : Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.

Offer emotional support to patients and their families.

  • Collaboration and Communication : Coordinate care with RNs, physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure holistic and seamless patient care.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation of patient care, observations, and treatments to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
  • Infection Control and Safety Compliance : Follow strict infection control practices and occupational safety standards to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Practical Nursing program recognized by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current LPN license with the BCCNM.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and handle high-stress situations calmly.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an asset.

Working Conditions
