You’ll find career opportunities that live up to your ambitions and be able to further develop your unique set of skills.So, if you’re looking to do what you love, we could be a perfect match.Our expectationsUnder the direction of the Import Director, Transport, the incumbent will work in collaboration with colleagues, internal customers, suppliers, carriers and customs agents in order to keep the flow of imported products moving to support business targets and do so in an efficient, and timely manner.Your RoleOperations (40%) :

First point of contact for importinformation / managementinternal / external

Bookings - Carrier and / or Forwarder Control Tower

Direct to vendor communication

Route analysis - MLB or diversions

Manage adhoc / special situations with Manager support

Identify issues, address them and provide solutions (see the forest through the trees).Delivery (30%) :

Coordination / analysis of inbound deliveries to Canadian DCs

Manage priority deliveries and destuff with DC

Pick-ups and deliveries reporting / management - import

PO Tracking / Container Tracking

Support delivery appointment requests

Container / Delivery Diversion management

Identify change improvement opportunities.Administrative (20%) :

Claims processing.

Shortage / Overage notifications (compliance)

Spot quote management

Invoice management- verifications, coding, approval requests

Track empty returns to minimize erroneous charges.

Internal customer management

PO Creation

Exception approvals

Support savings initiatives

Support cost managementCustoms (10%) :

Collaborate with broker for information requests, CBSA filings / appeals, CoO etc…

Manage small parcel shipments

Implement procedures as defined by Director

Review documents prior import, where necessary.

Audit customs transaction as required

Identify change improvement opportunities.The qualifications we are looking for

Post-secondary education in transportation (preferred) or supply chain or equivalent industry experience

5 to 7 years of experience in transportation and / or supply chain

Good interpersonal skills to foster a team-oriented work environment.

Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems, initiative and creative problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with CIFFA, CSCB, CBSA and a rudimentary understanding of US government import regulations.

Knowledge of customs classification and Canadian requirements an asset.

CITT (CCLP), CIFFA CCS, or CTCS certification is an asset.
