About The Job : Testing the water to see if bringing dad back home from the hospital, where he broke his femur while in hospital for a dementia assessment, is an option. Pleasant elderly dad who needs regular attention and companionship. Consistent supervision required for dad, while assisting both parents, dad mostly, but mom with regular life as she becomes less capable at doing all the household chores. I'm looking for a live-in Evening through to morning Caregiver, companion and helper for my elderly parents in North Haven, NW Calgary, to the assist and relieve the daytime caregiver. Wife is physically capable of daily living and requires little personal assistance but my dad has approximately SL4 dementia and currently is slow and reluctant to walk as he recovers from his injury. Possibly long term care level if he doesn’t get back to walking so exercises and Physio type work would be an asset. We’re He tends to get confused and repeats questions when he isn't kept busy on outings, visiting or watching TV. There is often repeated questions which creates caregiver stress for my mom. A companion that can be helpful and pleasant to both my mom and dad and create or accompany either of them (mostly Dad) on activities or involve them in seniors' group activities. Dad is active and enjoys going out of the house on errands to the store or out to events. Very flexible hours, great for a student requiring time to study or someone that wants to make my parents' lives more fulfilled and happy. Require a trustworthy and friendly person.
