Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Invoice Processing : Process a high volume of vendor invoices , ensuring proper approvals and job cost coding.
- Project Costing : Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and work orders while ensuring accuracy in job cost allocation .
- Vendor Management : Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors, handling inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
- Reconciliations : Perform statement reconciliations to ensure accounts remain up to date and resolve outstanding issues.
- Payments & Expense Management : Prepare EFTs, wire transfers, and cheque payments while ensuring timely processing.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Customer Invoicing : Generate and issue customer invoices based on project milestones and contract terms.Collections & Follow-Ups : Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely payments.Cash Application : Accurately record incoming payments and reconcile accounts to ensure proper allocation.Reporting & Documentation : Maintain accurate AR records, aging reports, and financial documentation for audit and compliance.Qualifications & Experience
Education : Diploma or certificate in accounting, finance, or a related field.Experience : 2+ years of AP & AR experience (construction industry preferred).High-Volume AP / AR : Proven ability to process large numbers of invoices and payments efficiently.Project Costing : Strong understanding of cost coding, contracts, and job costing principles .Software Knowledge : Experience using construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Jonas) and Microsoft Excel.Attention to Detail : Strong analytical skills and accuracy in financial transactions.Communication Skills : Ability to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships.Why Join This Team?
