Our client in Vancouver, a Public Practice firm is looking for a Director of Audit (Quality).
As Director of Audit, you will support our Assurance Group in financial reporting, issue resolution, technical accounting support, consultations and effectively applying the Firm’s quality control processes and procedures, all in helping to ensure that provincial ethical requirements and firm standards are met at all times.
Responsibilities :
- Respond to technical questions from all professional staff regarding accounting and assurance-related matters
- Perform quality monitoring reviews of engagement files of financial statements under Canadian Accounting Standard for Private Enterprises (ASPE), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Conduct research on relevant issues, new standards and their application
- Keep up-to-date by reading associated literature and attending appropriate educational courses for skill development
- Prepare comments on new standards issued by CPA Canada
- Maintain responsibility for certain aspects of staff and executive training including course development and course instruction
- Prepare and present seminars or informational fact sheets to clients on relevant accounting pronouncements
- Participate in thought leadership process and share functional and industry knowledge and expertise with colleagues and teams
- Promote a culture of progressiveness, flexibility and inclusiveness
- Promote firm expertise and services
Job Requirements : Requirements :
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in assurance-related professional servicesStrong technical background in ASPE, IFRS, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, CSRE 2400 Review Engagements, and CSRS 4200 Compilation EngagementsSound technical background in US GAAP would also be considered an assetStrong interpersonal and verbal / written communication skillsStrong research, organizational and project management skillsCompletion of the CPA, CA designationExperience in presentation of internal training courses and / or external presentationsTechnical experience with CaseWare would be considered an assetAbility to build strong and meaningful connections with colleagues and clients, based on trust and respectA desire to learn and adapt in a challenging environmentAudit background is preferredAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamIf you are looking for growth and this sounds like the position for you, please apply today!
