The Field Application Specialist
Job Summary :
The Field Application Specialist is responsible for high-level technical and application training to Copan’s customers. The primary focus of this position is to assist on-site customer installations, contributing to the development and implementation of training programs, and developing technical communications and change management initiatives for the Copan Automation (WASP, Universe, WASPLab) and Liquid Based Microbiology (LBM) in the US and Canada. This position reports to the US Lab Application Manager.

Conducts comprehensive user training on Copan Automation to customer competency, optimal utilization, and self-sufficiency.During installations the Application Specialist may be required to be at site of the installation for up to 10 weeks (Monday through Friday).Demonstrates proficiency in the application of the COPAN instruments and software by uncovering customer’s needs, implementing customized solutions, and facilitating rapid adoption.Collaborates with Field Service to enhance customer experience.Drives implementation process and optimal utilization of the COPAN automation.Conducts product demonstrations, while promoting product value to support the sales of COPAN automated platforms at tradeshows, workshops and customer sites as needed.Assists regional sales associates during the implementation of WASP and WASPLabContributes to laboratory workflow productivity by maximizing the efficiency of the product training.Routinely checks in with the customer to ensure that the configuration of COPAN’s automation is optimal and that customers are running QC procedures properly.Work with the sales team to ensure maximum utilization of COPAN products (i.e. ESwab, FecalSwab and broths, etc.).Work with the sales team and customer for ESwab, FecalSwab, and LBM validations and implementation.Required Skills / Abilities :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills.Superior presentation and demonstration of products.Knowledge of workflow aspects as they relate to the laboratory important to the system implementation.Coordination of training rotations and schedules within the laboratory to achieve cross training for all operators on all shifts.Flexibility and ability to initiate new assignments and successfully complete them.Attention to detail, constantly and persistently striving for excellence in technical and customer facing skills.Superior project management abilities, leading conference calls, teaching, motivational and organizational skills with a proven track record of accomplishments.Professionalism in customer, cross-team interactions with high concern for customer needs and expectations.Knowledge and experience of technical and application support.Energetic and positive attitude, able to communicate the organizational vision and goals, and guiding team members in achieving these goals.Computer literacy required.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Ability to be on call during evening / weekend as needed.Education and Experience :
B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or Microbiology.Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in a clinical laboratory setting or as an application specialist with molecular experience.Prior field experience in technical clinical training preferred.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to sit for long periods on airplane or in an auto to reach job destinations.Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 lbs.Must be able to occasionally crouch, kneel, and / or duck into tight spaces of the equipment.The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. Kneeling and crouching for extended periods is also necessary.Working Conditions :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a lab environment.The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.The employee is occasionally exposed to bodily fluids and biological contaminants. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Job Type : Full-time

Fournir une formation complète aux utilisateurs sur l’automatisation Copan pour garantir leur compétence, leur utilisation optimale et leur autonomie.Lors des installations, le spécialiste peut être amené à se rendre sur site pendant une période allant jusqu’à 10 semaines (du lundi au vendredi).Démontrer une maîtrise des applications des instruments et logiciels Copan en identifiant les besoins des clients, en mettant en œuvre des solutions personnalisées et en facilitant une adoption rapide.Collaborer avec le service technique pour améliorer l’expérience client.Piloter le processus d’implémentation et l’utilisation optimale de l’automatisation Copan.Réaliser des démonstrations produits et promouvoir leur valeur pour soutenir les ventes de plateformes automatisées Copan lors de salons, ateliers, et visites clients.Assister les commerciaux régionaux lors de l’implémentation de WASP et WASPLab.Contribuer à la productivité des flux de travail en laboratoire en maximisant l’efficacité de la formation produit.Effectuer des suivis réguliers avec les clients pour s’assurer de l’optimisation de la configuration des automates Copan et de la bonne réalisation des procédures QC.Collaborer avec l’équipe commerciale pour maximiser l’utilisation des produits Copan (ESwab, FecalSwab, bouillons, etc.).Soutenir la validation et l’implémentation des ESwab, FecalSwab et produits LBM avec l’équipe commerciale et les clients.Compétences et Aptitudes Requises :
