Assistant Underwriter, Halifax

You put the needs of your internal and external clients first and take pride in your work and reputation.Job Responsibilities : Service a book of business under the direct supervision of an underwriterProcess new insurance submissions from clients Log applications, prepare binders, and process policies and endorsementsBind risk, post the invoice and process technical dataOrder and follow up on inspections and handle endorsement requests and referrals for the underwriterManage relationships with retail insurance brokers and follow up on any outstanding information needed to complete the underwriting fileQualifications : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experienceInsurance administration experience in underwriting and / or brokerage support with excess & surplus lines preferredDemonstrated proficiency in customer service and administration Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detailInterest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authorityCompensation Package : Competitive compensationHealth benefitsGroup RRSP Employer paid continuing education courses and designations
