Job description

We are partnering with a well-established organization in the recycling and sustainability sector in search of a Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize its transportation network across British Columbia. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the efficient collection, movement, and delivery of recyclable materials while managing third-party transportation providers, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Optimize logistics for collection, transportation, and processing of recyclables.
Plan efficient transportation routes for depots and retail locations.
Oversee third-party transportation providers to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
Manage contracts and relationships with logistics partners.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Monitor carrier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with depots, processing facilities, and logistics teams.
Analyze logistics data and generate performance reports.
Develop strategies to reduce GHG emissions and implement clean technologies.
Track and analyze KPIs (trip efficiency, cost per trip, fuel consumption).
Provide financial analysis and forecasting for decision-making.

Education & Experience :

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

5+ years in transportation or logistics management, ideally in recycling or waste management.

Proven experience in cost reduction, contract management, and process optimization.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
