SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects.
We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes.
We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.
Our Continuing Education opportunities are typically scheduled during daytime and evenings to suit a diverse learner population.
Our learners are mature, focused, and want to be challenged. The instructor's role is to professionally manage the learning process of the students and to ensure that students achieve established learning objectives to the maximum of their potential.
The instructor is to make use of any and all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies, to ensure student success.
The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a learning environment which is pedagogically sound, technically supported and innovative in nature.
Note : We are currently building our Adjunct Instructor talent pool for potential contracts during the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

The Role
- Prepare and present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners if applicable given the course outline
- Maintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendance in both theory and lab classes if given the course outline
- Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment
- Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
- Provide on-going support, guidance and advice to students
- Attend all SAIT training as required
- Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
- Be an active and engaged member of the School
- Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
- Maintain contact with relevant industry sectors
Qualifications
- Minimum Post-secondary Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture. An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
- Expertise and experience in Green Building Technologies :
- Building Science Principals as it relates to high-performance homes
- Net zero and zero carbon targets, practices, and principles
- Integrating high performance principles into new or existing designs, including alternate assemblies, materials, mechanical systems, and penetration details
- Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
- Experience in facilitating online and in-person
- Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
- Basic level of Proficiency working in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
