The role of the pastor of care and connection is to ensure the care and connection of the congregation from first-time visit through participation in our church life community.
The focus of this role will include pastoral / congregational care, guest assimilation, groups ministry and neighbourhood care.

Essential Responsibilities Lead a team to ensure a care environment for all those connected with Philpott Church.Develop and lead a visitation ministry emphasizing shut-ins and hospital visitation.
Facilitate pastoral counselling when requested.Meet newcomers and help them connect to the life of the church.Be present at services and events to assist with guest services.
Cultivate effective pathways for new and existing church members to connect with others and grow in their faith; Alpha, groups, volunteer opportunities etc.
Recruit, care for and train group leaders.Oversee connection-related programs like Alpha, senior adult ministry, English conversation, newcomers’ lunch etc.
Maintain a presence in our neighbourhood and look for ways to connect people to our church.Other duties as assigned. Skill Requirements A deep relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to meet the spiritual needs of others.
Pastoral and shepherding gifting.A love for people and a passion to connect them to God and others.A heart for local church ministry and a sense of call to ministry in an urban, downtown setting and among people with complex needs.
Experience in ministry, giving evidence of an ability to organize, lead, encourage, motivate, and work with others.Must be a flexible and teachable team player.
Qualifications Previous pastoral ministry experience.Willingness to sign our statement of faith.Experience working with people from diverse cultures and perspectives.
