Job Description
We are looking for a senior-level, bilingual (French / English) Corporate Lawyer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. This role will require you to manage and oversee a wide variety of legal matters, including contract review, transactional law, environmental law, as well as employment, compliance, and litigation-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory challenges within the recycling and scrap metal industry, and will be instrumental in providing strategic, practical, and operational legal support to the business. The position reports to the Vice-President Legal Affairs.
Key Responsibilities :
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supplier agreements, sales contracts, leases, joint ventures, and other business-related agreements.
Lead and support corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, and real estate transactions.
Advise on environmental laws and regulations affecting scrap metal recycling operations.
Provide legal advice on employment-related matters, employee agreements, and workplace policies.
Manage, supervise, and resolve any litigation or disputes involving the company, including matters related to business operations and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance, trade regulations, and corporate policies.
Provide legal counsel to the company's global operations, addressing legal issues in various jurisdictions.
