Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Maintenance within the Facilities Division, the HVAC / Mechanical Tradesperson is responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices.

The successful applicant must be a team-player ready to be part of a cohesive, effective team of professionals in this busy department of A & B Gasfitters, Plumbers, HVACR Mechanics, who hold great pride in their work.

The department requires applicants to be prepared to work effectively in a small team as well as independently to complete top quality work in various District facilities.

This Mechanical Tradesperson position works 7 : 00 to 3 : 00, Monday to Friday, however shift times may vary with some afternoon work.

The successful applicant will have access to top-quality tools and equipment, a well-maintained fleet of vehicles and the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.

Applicants must have : BCTQ in an applicable trade ideally Gas Fitter or Refrigeration or other trade supplemented with experience in a variety of HVAC / Mechanical work;

Must hold a Class B Gas Ticket (bonus if you hold a Class A ticket or an electrical endorsement!) Knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license Sufficient physical strength and health to perform the duties of the position are required This is a unionized position that offers an hourly wage rate of $39.
