As part of the continued evolution of the company and the organization’s emphasis on people, an opportunity now exists for a talented learning and development leader to join the organization as the new Head of Learning & Development. With the full support and engagement of the leadership and with the current L&D program very much in its initial stages, the Head of Learning & Development will be joining at an exciting time.

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Head of Learning & Development will be responsible for creating a learning culture with the ultimate goal of enhancing capabilities to drive a competitive advantage in Canada and the US. The position will lead the design, development, and deployment of impactful and cost-effective learning solutions in areas of capability development including trades, leadership frameworks, talent development, and performance management. Managing a small team, the successful candidate must be able to influence, build relationships and partner closely with the business and operations to deliver on L&D initiatives and ensure that the L&D strategic plan and associated programs will positively impact company culture and overall performance and is aligned with business objectives and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced L&D leader with a proven track record in both the development and implementation of L&D programs across a large business ideally in a multi-site, industrial and geographically dispersed environment. With superior relationship building skills and the ability to influence at both the front line and executive levels, the Head of L&D will bring best practices and is innovative and strategic in their approach, but is also a highly practical and hands-on practitioner that understands the importance of a business-oriented program.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $130-150k plus bonus and benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
