Job description

Job Title : Data EngineerGroup / Team : EngineeringDesired Start Date : ASAPContract Length : 6 monthsPossibility of Extension : LikelyLocation : Hybrid – Vancouver (3 days / week)Hours : 40 hours / weekStatus : Inc or T4Role OverviewWe are seeking two Data Engineers (Engineer II level) to support key initiatives in data engineering and analytics. These engineers will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines to support business intelligence, marketing technology, and analytics capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & DevelopmentBuild and maintain data pipelines for various analytics and marketing initiatives.Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure Cloud, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake to manage and process data.Create secure data views and publish them to the Enterprise Data Exchange via Snowflake for consumption by other teams.Modernize and migrate data pipelines using Databricks Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Unity Catalog.Ensure compliance with PII encryption and data masking standards.Data Engineering Tools & TechnologiesData Orchestration : Azure Data Factory (ADF), Apache Airflow, FiveTranProgramming Languages : SQL, PythonData Modeling : Star Schema, Snowflake SchemaStreaming & Event Processing : Kafka, EventHub, Apache Spark, Snowflake StreamingDevOps & SupportImprove CI / CD processes for data pipeline deployment.Monitor production environments, troubleshoot failures, and provide on-call support as needed.Collaborate with stakeholders on Agile teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.Participate in discussions on improving DevOps practices and data reliability.Must-Have Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.Google Professional Data Engineer Certification (preferred).Experience working with Big Table, ClickStream data migration, semi-structured and unstructured data.Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.Experience developing complex SQL queries.Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks, Snowflake, and cloud-based storage solutions.Experience working within a Data Engineering team and following industry best practices.Ability to learn and adapt quickly to emerging cloud and IT technologies.Experience with JIRA or similar bug tracking / task management tools.Skilled in managing outages, escalations, and crisis situations.Why Join Us?This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-impact engineering team that leverages cutting-edge cloud technologies to solve complex data challenges.
