Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION :

  • Receive and identify raw materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare customer orders while adhering to company procedures (FIFO, documentation, WHMIS).
  • Prepare shipping documents for orders (Packing slip) and bills of lading.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Actively participate in physical inventory counts in the warehouse.
  • Store finished products and materials in the warehouse, ensuring proper recording of locations for effective stock management.
  • Group items together by placing the most recent production at the back or bottom of the pallet.
  • Follow the Quality Assurance process to ensure product specifications and company policies and procedures are met.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Keep equipment and the work area clean and in good condition.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Be flexible to meet production needs.
  • Suggest improvements for operational efficiency when necessary.
  • Regularly check the condition of forklifts.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to read, write, calculate, and perform basic math.
  • Possess a valid forklift driver’s license.
  • Experience with double-reach forklifts.
  • Be available and open-minded.
  • Be clean and organized.
  • Be in good physical condition.

    Responsibilities

    As a forklift operator for receiving / shipping, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of goods, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining stock records, verifying product compliance with shipping documents, and coordinating logistics to ensure a smooth flow of operations. Additionally, you will need to ensure that safety standards and operational procedures are strictly followed to guarantee the quality and efficiency of the logistics process.

    Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in warehouse operations or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Proficient in using warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks and scanners. -Basic knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
  • Valid forklift operator certification
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks.
