Your role :

As the Corporate Culture & Events Planner, you will be at the forefront of creating a positive and inclusive space for all employees.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing a range of programs and events as part of an overarching strategy to promote engagement, maintain high morale, and build upon the office culture in our Vancouver headquarters.

No two days will be alike. One minute you will be organizing a wellbeing seminar as part of Diversity and Inclusion week, and the next helping a staff member turn their social club idea into a reality!

You will work with many departments to support buy-in and ownership of employee culture and engagement. You will provide proactive advice on how to enhance the employee experience and support other teams' objectives to help drive business results.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have lots of creativity, impeccable stakeholder management, excellent follow-through, and the ability to build relationships and influence easily.

You will also need to understand budgetary considerations, company values, and organizational priorities, all while conveying a sense of fun, inclusion and teamwork.

Your responsibilities :

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and execute a variety of corporate events that promote a fun / engaging office culture
  • Be a champion of building culture and helping team members to know and live in alignment with our values
  • Turn staff ideas into reality and run with things that help grow the office culture
  • Develop and deliver communication plans for internal campaigns and projects
  • Facilitate a core program of events and annual activities that run throughout the year
  • Support and manage internal volunteer programs, including the Gastown Grand Prix, Ronald Macdonald House dinners, and other community initiatives
  • Organize, promote and deliver events and activities; plan the schedule, gain approval, host and / or facilitate the program, and ensure everything runs smoothly
  • Support other departments to deliver office culture initiatives e.g., assist HR with Diversity & Inclusion related goals
  • Engage with staff on a routine basis to understand sentiment and enable feedback to management
  • Build effective feedback mechanisms and keep a pulse on reaction levels
  • Ensure proper, effective and professional communication is distributed in a timely manner
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to deliver new and innovative ways to engage and empower staff, evaluate activity, and share suggestions
  • Keep online resources and communication tools current, organized, and user friendly

About you :

  • Driven to enhance the staff experience and build the overall culture of an organization
  • Highly creative with the ability to come up with many ideas paired with the follow-through to bring them to life
  • Experience liaising and working with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Confident presentation style with an ability to present to a wide range of staff, including senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Prior events management or project management experience is definitely an asset

Compensation :

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.

We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance.

Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. Other benefits include : Paid sick days, maternity / parental enhancement program, corporate bonuses, and an RRSP contribution matching program.

For Vancouver-based employees, we provide a subsidized meal program, courtesy of our talented in-house culinary team!

British Columbia - Base Salary Range :

$60,000 $75,000 CAD
