Financial Analyst

We are in search of a Financial Analyst to join our team in Guelph, Ontario. This role is essential in the public sector industry, as it involves various responsibilities such as processing and recording transactions, conducting account analysis, and developing new financial reports. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities :

• Carry out transaction processing and recording on a daily basis.
• Prepare and develop new financial and management reports, providing analytical commentary as needed.
• Research and resolve accounting and operational issues.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and schedules, including supporting working papers for audit purposes.
• Participate in various finance and company projects and initiatives, focusing on quality and efficiency improvements.
• Utilize your knowledge and expertise to foster financial understanding across the organization.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of personnel.
• Manage government remittances and reporting, account reconciliation, and vendor management.
• Work collaboratively with other Financial Analysts and Finance Manager.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a Financial Analyst role or similar
• Proficiency in Budget Processes, including planning, management, and adjustment
• Proficiency in using Great Plains Dynamics for financial management and reporting
• Advanced skills in Excel, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and various data analysis tools
• Experience in Account Analysis, including the ability to review financial information, identify errors or discrepancies, and provide accurate reports
• Knowledge of Federal Government Reporting requirements, protocols, and procedures
• Proven ability in Financial Reporting, including the creation of statements, budgets, and forecasts.
