Morgan Stanley Asia Wealth Management (AWM) is an integrated business within Institutional Securities. We provide highly personalized, best-in-class investment advice, execution services and wealth management and banking solutions to Ultra-High Net Worth individuals and families across the region.

Description

Leveraging the Firm’s global institutional securities and wealth management footprint, and its renowned investment banking, capital markets and investment management capabilities, AWM builds holistic relationships with clients and provides them with sophisticated advice, service and products. Investment Management Services (IMS) is responsible for fee-based activity for AWM. Fee-based products include mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds, as well as discretionary and advisory mandates. The IMS business encompasses product origination and due diligence, product approval committee, product launch coordination, product documentation, marketing and trade processing, after-sales support and product monitoring.

Based in Singapore, IMS is seeking a highly self-motivated professional to support the sales and distribution effort.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge relating to managed products (e.g. mutual funds, alternative investments and mandates)
  • Assess and originate appropriate fund ideas for the AWM distribution channel
  • Collaborate with Product Due Diligence team to deliver new products to the AWM platform and distribute existing product updates
  • Collaborate closely with AWM sales representatives, investment consultants and internal stakeholders on fund ideas and sales campaigns
  • Prepare marketing material including presentations, proposals, ideas and flyers
  • Support IMS product sales, distribution and marketing efforts in the region, with the objective of increasing product penetration and recurring revenues
  • Participate in marketing initiatives including conferences, sales meetings, business trips and other client-focused activities

Qualifications / Education / Experience Requirements

  • University graduate in business-oriented disciplines
  • 4-8 years of professional, full-time experience in wealth management or asset management (investment funds background a plus)
  • Skills

  • A financial and analytical background with demonstrated flair for money management strategies and investment product knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the wealth management industry, and the risk and regulatory environment concerning fund products in particular
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to multi-task, manage within tight schedules and a work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Abundant interpersonal skills and the aptitude to engage effectively with business stakeholders and external clients
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and public-speaking in English and Mandarin (Cantonese and other languages a plus)
  • Effective working independently and as a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Morningstar and Bloomberg
  • Licenses and Registrations

  • Dealing in capital markets products

  • Issuing or promulgating analyses / reports on investment products
