Role Summary Key Qualifications / Requirements
- College / University Bachelors Engineering degree
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in a multi-shift automotive manufacturing maintenance environment
- Experience must include maintenance support of CNC, PLC and robotics control systems, hydraulics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, facilities maintenance
- Demonstrated success in continually improving operations
- Refined ability to perform analysis and present results
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
- Knowledge of Safety Legislation and its’ application in a manufacturing environment
- Must be a team player, communicate well with others, and able to interact with all people at all levels and departments
- Possess good interpersonal skills and is results orientated.
- Must have good organizational skills, and display a positive attitude towards new ideas
- Good working knowledge of English language (both spoken and written)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve Key Performance Indicators that include;
- Safety Audit, ISO45000, ISO14001 Score on relevant elements
- Accident and Incident Count for direct reports
- Time to close on HSE Action Items
- Work Order First-Time-Right assessment
- Quality Audit performance on relevant elements
- MTBF
- MTTR
- Budget Adherance
- Labour Hours Optimization (through manpower planning and overtime avoidance)
- Suggestion Program on-time-closure
- Employee Opinion Score on relevant elements
- Safe installation and repair of equipment.
- Ensure that an effective preventive and predictive maintenance system is in place and is clearly understood by the members of the Maintenance team
- Coach, train, develop and inspire maintenance staff
Key Responsibilities 2
- Maintain documentation on all equipment, building infrastructure, etc. such as machine manuals, electric circuit diagrams, hydraulic-pneumatic circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, spare part lists, preventative / predictive and emergency breakdown work orders / instructions
- Provide relevant reports to display performance and analysis to direct improvement activities
- Select reliable and quality suppliers for spare parts. Maintain an appropriate level of spare parts.
- Select reliable and quality contractors.
- Ensure work instructions are followed and millwrights, electricians and apprentices have received the proper training
- Ensure that shift maintenance reporting is processed accurately and on time.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant trade standards of best practice in all work carried out by the team improvements
- Allocate jobs to employees ensuring they are trained to carry out job tasks and functions in an efficient manner, including the use of hand and power tools, safety devices and required personal protective equipment
- Support CI initiatives of the manufacturing team
- Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures
- Enforce high standard of quality, integrity, teamwork and safety in all work performed by the members of the team.
