ABOUT THE ROLEWe are MOTTIV, a fast-growing startup revolutionizing the endurance sports industry. Our app is the first and only platform offering personalized training plans for triathlons, running races, cycling events, duathlons, and swimruns—designed specifically for real people who want to achieve extraordinary goals. Unlike traditional fitness apps, MOTTIV delivers an immersive experience with audio-guided workouts comparable to having a $2,000 a month personal trainer.We’re looking for our first Head of Marketing (Director or Vice President, depending on experience) to spearhead our growth and cement MOTTIV’s position as the go-to platform for endurance athletes. This is a hands-on role that is perfect for someone with deep roots in endurance sports, experience in gaming and the fitness industry, as well as influencer marketing.Critical knowledge to bring to this role is in-house influencer marketing experience.The candidate will need to have passion for driving top-of-funnel growth through innovative marketing strategies.The successful candidate must be based in Alberta, Canada for this remote role due to funding requirements.ABOUT MOTTIVMOTTIV exists to make endurance sports accessible, fun, and rewarding for everyone. Our innovative use of gamification and user motivation ensures every athlete feels supported and inspired throughout their journey.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEA successful background as a high-performing endurance athlete (triathlete, runner, or cyclist) - someone who will understand the journey our users are embarking on.Hands-on experience creating and running influencer marketing campaigns and ambassador programs.Strong critical thinking and strategic planning abilities to ensure we understand what strategies are being implemented and why they’re working, or why they’re not working.Leadership skills to manage both internal teams (1-2 direct reports) and external partners (e.g. paid marketing resources, content marketing partnerships).A proven track record managing paid advertising campaigns through external vendors.Content and blog post marketing experience.Prior experience at a fast-paced startup, comfortable with rapid growth and dynamic changes.Strong connections within the endurance sports industry.Experience working with a recognized endurance sports brand.Experience with video games or habit forming apps is a bonus.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESConduct a comprehensive audit of current marketing assets and prioritize high-impact opportunities.Develop and scale influencer and ambassador marketing programs to drive awareness and user acquisition.Oversee paid advertising campaigns, working with external agencies to optimize performance.Continuously test, iterate, and refine marketing strategies to maximize results.Align marketing strategies with overall company objectives in collaboration with leadership.Mentor and lead the internal marketing team to ensure high performance and alignment.WHAT TO EXPECT0–3 Months : Gain a thorough understanding of MOTTIV’s mission, product, and industry landscape. During this period, you’ll audit existing marketing initiatives, identify high-leverage opportunities, and test strategies to drive early results.3 Months and Beyond : Take full ownership of the marketing division, focusing on scaling successful initiatives and refining or scrapping those that underperform.
