Job Description
Our team is looking for a Data Strategist experienced in agile project delivery and complex Information Technology (IT) systems. The successful candidate will provide innovative solutions to complex challenges and will be responsible for developing a data strategy for our client. This is expected to be a 12-month contract with potential to extend. The role will be primarily remote with an expectation to be available for onsite meetings occasionally in Edmonton, AB. Key responsibilities will include :
- Provide data leadership, data program oversight and advice.
- Establish a data strategy for the Registries Modernization initiative that enables the GoA to maximize the value of registry data assets.
- Provide leadership in the iterative development of :
- future state data vision, principles, and strategy for the Registries Modernization initiative.
- future state data governance and structure, including accountability for data ownership and custodianship.
- legislative and policy considerations in support of program outcomes.
- future state conceptual technical and data architecture.
- risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- identify and define value proposition for key Data Product offerings.
- Responsible to inform and facilitate decision-making and consolidated advice in support of the data outcomes of the Registries Modernization initiative.
- Review, analyze and provide expert advice regarding the future-state data architecture.
- Provide facilitation, development, and / or presentation of key communications briefings / presentations for executive leadership.
- Establish Data Product Roadmap for the program area.
- Provide status reports as required by the program area.
- Additional deliverables that may be defined during the review.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in implementing enterprise-level data strategies and governance frameworks.5+ years of proven ability in the development and deployment of data platforms and governance systems.5+ years of experience in leading, consulting, and providing support to clients at various organizational levels.5+ years of experience in formulating and executing strategies and mandates across government entities.3+ years of extensive work in the field of Data Governance.An active professional certification or accreditation in a relevant field is required.5+ years of experience in conducting, facilitating, and interpreting impact and risk assessments.5+ years of experience in data analytics or data science.5+ years of experience performing quantitative and qualitative analyses of costs and benefits.5+ years of experience in analyzing, developing, and integrating complex IT systems.5+ years of experience utilizing various data management tools, such as data governance tools, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.2+ of experience in Information Governance, records management, or information management.5+ years of experience in agile software development practices and modern service design methodologies.If this role aligns with your expertise and interest, we invite you to apply today!
