On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking an experienced Manager, Civil Structural to join their team for a full-time permanent position that can be fully remote across Canada.
Manager, Civil Structural Job Details
The Manager, Civil Structural plans and directs all aspects of Civil Structural engineering activities within the department. Ensures all Civil Structural engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies and objectives. Oversees the Civil Structural team across our global offices.
Manager, Civil Structural - Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating preparation of engineering work packages and assignment of resources to projects, and rationalizing workload among salary, hourly, and consultant & contractor staff to optimize company financial performance.
- Monitoring, review, and approval of weekly timesheets to confirm scheduling performance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to complete technical reviews, monitor project schedules, ensure completion of deliverables, and to prepare estimates and justifications for change orders if necessary.
- Collaborate with Principals, Business Unit managers, Business Development, and Project Managers to prepare fee estimates for proposals.
- Responsible for the application of the company’s Organizational Quality Management Program (OQM), and for ensuring that all company deliverables are complete, accurate, and comply with all applicable codes, standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Constantly challenge your team to develop solutions that meet or exceed quality standards and client expectations, demonstrate process and technology improvements, or reduce costs by new approaches, creative solutions, or improving implementation and delivery
- Maintain your registration as a professional engineer, and as the responsible member for civil engineering and structural engineering, in each jurisdiction that the Company provides engineering services.
- Responsible for assessing the need for and development of internal civil, structural engineering precedents, and their subsequent review, final approval, and implementation for use.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining reference libraries for civil, structural design codes and standards.
- Responsible for review, approval, training, and effective use of all civil, structural software tools
Manager, Civil Structural - Mandatory Skills
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in good standing with EGBC (additional registration within other provinces, and / or APEGA an asset)10years' experience in Canadian industrial and commercial structural steel design, and rigid frame designStrong background in all applicable National and provincial building codes, and industry standards.Highly professional and effective verbal communication skills and strong ability to express ideas clearly and enthusiastically.Practical, "can-do" approach to problem solving.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as a member of a team.A commitment to ethical business practices and high personal integrityProficient communication in oral English, written presentation, and technical sketching.Multi-tasking with the ability to work to schedules and budgets.Able to travel to client sites for data collection and construction review.Manager, Civil Structural - Assignment Location
