Located in Waterdown, Ontario, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fabrication Supervisor to lead our team and work alongside them on the shop floor.
As a Working Fabrication Supervisor , you will not only oversee and coordinate the welding and fabrication team but also actively participate in shop floor operations. You will provide hands-on support to ensure projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on collaboration and enjoys contributing directly to the fabrication process.
Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Supervision : Lead, mentor, and manage a team of welders and fabricators, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Hands-On Fabrication : Actively participate in welding, assembling, and fabricating custom paint finishing systems to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Production Scheduling : Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
- Quality Assurance : Inspect work in progress and finished products to ensure compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Safety & Compliance : Promote and enforce a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve production challenges.
- Inventory & Materials Management : Monitor inventory levels, ensure materials are available for upcoming projects, and manage waste reduction.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Requirements :
Proven experience as a supervisor or team leader in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.Proficiency in welding techniques, tools, and processes, with a willingness to perform hands-on fabrication.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building and motivation.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with production planning software is an asset.
