Spirit Omega Inc in Partnership with The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is pleased to announce that we are seeking a Indigenous Marketing & Events Manager to join their team.

The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is an Indigenous-led and exclusively Indigenous-serving organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. As a resource, we provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building. Our team works internally and externally within our Ways of Being.

This position is intended for candidates who identify as First Nations, Inuit or Metis.  Candidates from these communities who wish to be considered must self identify.

Remote position

Salary range $85,000 - $97,000

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Community Engagement (DM&CE), the Marketing & Events Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, organizing, and implementing all ICCE external facing communications activities. The Marketing & Events Manager will coordinate with ICCE's marketing and events partners to achieve the objectives set out in the marketing strategy, while contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies, campaigns, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Coordination of Events : Collaborate with the DM&CE, internal committees, and external partners, to organize the biennial ICCE Conference, online webinars and other external gatherings. Work closely with the conference team, leveraging innovative communication strategies and expertise to ensure its success. Work with the Chief of Staff on logistics for ICCE’s in person Board and Technical Advisory Committee meetings, and other off-site events / meetings.
  • Manage Digital Content : Lead marketing automations, copy infrastructure, and functionality within Client Relationship Management, and Content Management system in alignment with ICCE’s current and new programs and services.
  • Development of Communication Plans : To support internal and external communications. Create, execute, and update comprehensive workplan for communications to elevate ICCE visibility as a national organization supporting First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
  • Creation of Multi-Channel Content : Development and implementation of virtual content, including newsletters, social media posts, videos and collection of digital assets tailored for diverse digital platforms.
  • Management of Marketing Processes : Collaborate with DM&CE, to develop, market, and manage collaborative knowledge sharing opportunities for Indigenous communities.
  • Management of Online Campaigns : Plan, execute, and assess campaigns and events to align with organizational goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and engaging the audience effectively.
  • AI and Innovation : Operationalize automation, AI, and innovative strategies where applicable to streamline communication processes, event management and social media management.
  • Digital Storytelling : Leverage existing community partners to develop project-based community success stories to drive intergenerational knowledge sharing, value-driven content.

  • Working Conditions

    Work involves exposure to both public and Indigenous communities and organizations, government departments, and others. Work is subject to deadlines and interruptions. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote office environment. The work may involve some out-of-town travel to remote locations. It is expected that when representing ICCE, dress is appropriate for each specific target audience.

    Relationships

  • Director of Marketing and Community Engagement  - Receives program and personal performance direction, guidance, and encouragement; discusses plans and priorities, maintains control through teamwork and direction.
  • ICCE Staff, Members, Committees, Volunteers and Contractors - Works closely with all team members to promote and enhance engagement, and to ensure effective communication on brand with ICCE narratives. - Demonstrates courtesy, cooperation, and teamwork; maintains professional and ethical behaviour; represents and promotes the interests of the ICCE using sound judgement and respect while following the policies of the ICCE.
  • Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, with a strong preference for education relating to Indigenous issues.
  • 5 years of relevant career experience in communications role with a proven track record of successfully implementing marketing projects, events and online communication campaigns
  • Experience with Indigenous organizations / audiences (marketing, communications) – experience in the field of environment, cumulative effects or a related field would be an asset.
  • Digital marketing, Indigenous communications, is considered an asset.
  • Superior copywriting, organization, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Knowledge of email marketing and customer relationship management systems such as SalesForce, HubSpot, Mailchimp etc.
  • Familiarity in working with Wordpress, Zoom Events, Eventbrite.
  • Proficient in G Suite applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations).
  • Application of Artificial Intelligence tools, and automation software such as Zapier.
  • Ability to express views and ideas effectively both written and orally.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, leadership, and creativity in the role.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate information to a variety of constituents across cultures.
  • Possess professional maturity, sensitivity with different cultures, and integrity.
  • Able to work virtually.
