Inpatient pharmacy's mandate is to ensure exemplary drug distribution for maintenance of patient-centred care. It incorporates many rotations and roles where technicians are working to full scope per Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Position Summary
At Hamilton Health Sciences, the Pharmacy department plays an instrumental role in ensuring the safe distribution and service of medications to patients which facilitates successful patient treatment outcomes in compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. The management and distribution of our medications is critical in ensuring we are able to consistently deliver high-quality, safe patient care. As we continue to grow our pharmacy operations, we are seeking Registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. Our pharmacy technicians are important members of the interdisciplinary team, performing a wide variety of responsibilities including completion of best possible medication histories, hazardous and nonhazardous sterile and nonsterile compounding; automations; and drug distribution. Our pharmacy technicians have unique opportunities to grow their skills through teaching and mentoring students, specializing in areas such as oncology, neonatal / pediatrics, and participating in, committees, projects and working groups.
