Job description

Alquemy’s client is seeking an experienced BI Consultant to support project-related work. This role involves driving the development and implementation of strategic BI projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and support BI and analytics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Design and implement modern data warehouse solutions, including snowflake, data lakes, and cloud data warehouses.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, transforms, and in-memory modeling / data engineering processes (MS SSIS, Data Factory, MS SSAS).
  • Utilize analytics environments such as Data Bricks, R Studio, and Apache Spark to support project requirements.
  • Create and maintain data visualizations using Power BI and MS SSRS.
  • Leverage components of the MS Azure advanced analytics ecosystem to enhance project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders.

Requirements :

  • Deep understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) technologies, preferably focused on the Microsoft BI technology stack.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern analytics delivery processes.
  • Proficiency in BI and analytics technologies, particularly with modern data warehouse approaches.
  • Experience with data engineering and ETL processes using MS SSIS, Data Factory, and MS SSAS.
  • Familiarity with analytics environments like Data Bricks, R Studio, and Apache Spark.
  • Strong skills in data visualization tools such as Power BI and MS SSRS.
  • Understanding of programming languages including C-sharp, SQL, Python, DAX, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with the MS Azure advanced analytics ecosystem.
  • This is an initial 6 month contract term with a good possibility of extension. Hybrid work with 3 days / week required on site in Edmonton.
