Job description

About the Role

As an Agriculture Reporter , you will :

  • Write daily market reports covering canola, and also be required to join the rotation for our main cash grain and livestock market reports.
  • Closely monitor crop condition reports, grain and oilseed sales and processing, and livestock markets.
  • Develop and maintain sources to break news ahead of the competition.
  • Develop, pitch and deliver initiative stories.
  • Use multimedia as appropriate to tell stories- graphics, pictures and TV.
  • Work together with large global teams to break news and undertake reporting projects.

About You

You would be a good candidate for the role of Agriculture Reporter if your background includes :

  • A minimum of four years of experience in journalism.
  • Experience covering markets, commodities trading, and the agriculture industry.
  • A proven track record in delivering exclusives, and extensive experience breaking news and handling big breaking stories in real time.
  • Experience in developing deep sources, pitching, reporting and writing long-form stories.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • The ability to clearly explain complex subjects to a wide audience as well as to the professional reader.
  • Proven ability to work closely and collaboratively as part of a diverse team spanning regions.
