The Opportunity

Reporting to the President, the Sales Representative will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding market share of Premium Surfaces in Western Canada. This newly created role will require a deep understanding of the design, construction and / or wholesale distribution market, with the ability to build strong relationships, and have a keen sense of market dynamics. The successful individual will work closely with the ownership group and warehouse team to deliver top-tier customer service, from design consultation to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and build long standing and trusted relationships through in person meetings, with new and existing customers to maximize profitably and grow sales.
  • Grow a strong network with fabricators, designers, developers, architects, and others throughout the territory.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and tactics to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of industry competitors and best practices; provide insight on trends and future strategies for long term growth.
  • Manage leads, quotes and sales process to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service experience – every time.
  • Provide expertise and oversight to the inventory management process and liaise with internal and external customers to ensure priorities are met.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally at all times.

Qualifications

  • A minimum 5 years of proven sales experience as a hunter, in a business-to-business environment within a related field.
  • Develop business relationships with fabricators, kitchen and bath dealers, interior designers, builders, remodelers, architects, and key business influencers in assigned territory.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction, interior design, architecture, commercial and / or residential market sectors.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including sitting and standing in offices, driving vehicles, and lifting / transporting 8+lb samples.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work from an appropriate home office when not meeting with clients on site.
