Product Specialist

As a Product Specialist you are responsible for making product recommendations. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to collaborate on product design, development, process and delivery.

Everything from idea generation to post-implementation evaluation.

Here is what a typical day looks like

Program & Product Development (70%)

  • Liaising with Western’s Commercial, Farm and Personal Lines departments as well as Insurance Partners to maximize business opportunities
  • Consulting with NIO leaders and providing key program and product recommendations to Senior Leaders
  • Participating in meetings with our Insurance Partners to identify product opportunities
  • Participating in and / or leading presentations to employees, vendors or other business partners as requested
  • Researching market trends and opportunities to assist in developing white-labeled products for Western
  • Consulting with Project Managers on branch stress testing, legal reviews, and regulatory compliance
  • Researching wordings and programs coverage and updating white label program wordings as required
  • Communication of all policy wording changes to internal partners
  • Analyzing market trends and identifying opportunities for increased revenues
  • Building and managing product guides and develop internal and external facing materials, in collaboration with Communications and Marketing departments

Administration and Reporting (30%)

  • Implementing and managing programs and placement services
  • Feedback coordination of end-user experience at a branch level
  • Identifying new opportunity areas of program development and revenue growth

The value you bring

  • Level 2 Insurance License
  • Minimum 5 years experience within the insurance industry
  • 3-5 years of commercial insurance experience is an asset
  • Highly inquisitive mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify trends, gaps, and ask meaningful questions
  • Highly detail oriented, with an ability to work through large sets of wording reviews, and building templates

Hours : Full time - 37.5 hours / week

Location : Remote - Canada

Salary Range : $60,000 to $88,000
