Qualifications : Essential :
- Extensive experience providing administrative and secretarial support to executive and senior level staff including scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments and making travel arrangements
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft, format, edit and proofread correspondence with excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated political acumen and ability to effectively manage and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with management and stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships
- High level of experience coordinating the flow of correspondence and maintaining and managing electronic and physical files
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with policies, procedures and guidelines
Desired :
Post-secondary education (e.g. diploma or certificate) in office or business administration from a recognized program is an asset
Duties : We are seeking a highly organized and professional Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to senior executive staff within the Government of Manitoba.
The Administrative Assistant requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
This position requires experience drafting, proofreading, editing and formatting a wide range of documents; managing files and track incoming and outgoing correspondence and emails;
managing senior executive calendars; experience with travel arrangements, and answering telephones and public inquiries, and must have exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
