Job OpeningaLocation : Expected Start Date : Full Time : Permanent : Posting End Date : Job Description : Communications Specialist - Administrative Assistant 2 (AESES)Exisiting Budget-Funded Project Full-Time 35.00 hours / week Monday to Friday | 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.Salary Range : $28.33 - $39.93 per hour ($51,560.60 - $72,672.60 per annum)Proposed Start Date : June 24, 2024Proposed End Date : June 25, 2025Trial / Probation Period : 840.00 work hours For more information, please contact : Elaine Chipongian@ : - Researches and prepares content for the development of UM today stories that highlight and promote Asper School of Business success.- Manages the website content and creates unique, relevant, and ongoing written content for the redesigned website.- Supports the Manager, Marketing and Communications with the research, development and proofreading associated with the creation of speaking notes, emails, and reports for the Asper School of Business Dean.- Ensure all content is current and up to date and explores alternate ways of presenting information that highlights and reinforces the Asper School of Business brand.- Supports the Marketing Officer in the development of fresh and relevant written content for email marketing campaigns.- Collects and disseminates information on the scholarly and research and other accomplishments of the faculty, staff, and students of the Faculty.- Provides effective proofreading and oversight on all written and digital content.- Acts as liaison to other department coordinators within the Faculty responsible for website content and UM today written content.- Leads a regular website content audit to ensure written content aligns with Asper's strategic priorities.- Develops a faculty-wide social media strategy that aligns with and supports the Marketing and Communications plan as well as around the Academic and Research areas of the faculty.- Develops social media content that supports increased online community engagement.- Ensures the Asper School of Business brand is accurately represented on social media while adapting the content to reflect the platform and primary audiences.- Organizes and maintains the Asper YouTube channel.- Responds to customer queries on the social networks.- Monitors organic and paid social media campaigns.- Organizes and runs the monthly Asper social media meetings that include all Asper units, student groups and partners. - Creates successful social media campaigns that meet campaign goals and generate audience growth.- Collaborates with the Graphic Designer and Marketing Officer to create compelling social media content.- Assumes responsibilities for overseeing Asper social media channels to ensure they are relevant while following and implementing emerging trends.- Provides social media leadership and support to the Student Marketing Assistant when applicable.- Responsible for the posting and scheduling of the channels utilizing platforms such as Hootsuite and LinkTree.- Provides and formally presents social media analytics reports for larger marketing campaigns.- Follows and shares all relevant U of M and community social media content- Serves as the Faculty lead and support for the recommendations, selection, distribution, and administration Asper School of Business promotional items.- Responsible for promotional item management, auditing, and coordination, including selection of materials to suit the audience.- Works closely with the Graphic Designer to create print, digital and social media materials that reflect and elevate the Asper School of Business visual identity with a focus on research, experiential education, the James W. Burns Leadership Institute, and the Transport Institute- In collaboration with recommendations and design support from the Graphic Designer, creates visually compelling presentations.- Responsible for material management and design for all internal Asper events and initiatives.- Manages the Asper Photo Library and uploads photos on to the Flickr account.- Support virtual Zoom event logistics as required.- Provides all associated social media channel and promotional item invoices to the Manager, Marketing and Communications.- Managers library of Faculty forms to ensure proper branding and adherence to required content.- Performs other duties as assigned or : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING : - A undergraduate degree in a related discipline required. EXPERIENCE : - Minimum of two years of directly related experience working in marketing and communications, journalism, or communications and public relations are required, including experience managing social media channels.- Minimum one-year experience developing social media plans, deploying content and scheduling of posts is required.- Experience using Mailchimp required.- Experience using Hootsuite or other social media scheduling platforms is required.- Knowledge of Google analytics and experience with digital animation is consider an asset.- Knowledge of University regulations and experience in an Academic environment preferred, or experience in a not for profit work environment is considered an asset.- Speech writing experience is considered an asset.- Public speaking experience is considered an asset.- Experience running Zoom meetings and virtual events considered an asset.- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
