Job Summary
This position is responsible for establishing and managing adequate team member levels at the Toronto Billy Bishop (YTZ) Line Maintenance Base. This involves organizing crews from three Transport Canada recognized scopes, M, E and S Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to ensure the correct skill set is available for planned and unplanned work on company aircraft. This position is also responsible for establishing adequate team member levels in the wheel shop and component shop.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with other Porter leaders, external vendors and contracted companies to manage the operation at our maintenance facility at Toronto Billy Bishop Airport.
- Ensure that recognized standards of work are carried out by all personnel under their supervision.
- Co-ordinate and supervise the inspection and rectification of aircraft and components including repair, modification, overhaul and alteration.
- Ensure maintenance records are correctly completed with respect to overall maintenance functions.
- Ensure that all planned and unplanned work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
- Responsible for technical liaison with all operational departments.
- Ensure that maintenance team members under their authority have the necessary equipment, facilities and training required to properly accomplish their duties.
- Maintain an adequate work force planning schedule.
- Utilization of the Safety Management System [SMS] reporting program and adherence to the Safety Policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

Post-secondary education.Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing technicians.Transport Canada issued AME M2, E or S license.DHC-8-Q400 and / or Embraer E1 or E2 endorsements considered an asset.Experience at Billy Bishop Airport an asset.Valid Canadian passport with ability to travel abroad. Well organized, good time management, detail oriented and ability to work autonomously.Ability to obtain airside security clearance.Valid G driver’s license.Knowledge of RAAS and AMOS an asset.Location
