The Project Manager is responsible for managing various electrical construction projects. Specifically, the Project Manager will deliver construction projects that are on schedule, meet budgeted costs, and meet required specifications and quality.
After project contracts are executed with customers, the Project Manager will prepare an overall schedule, labour and subcontractor resource requirements, and material procurement and delivery schedule.
The ideal candidate should have post-secondary education as an Engineering Technician (civil, electrical, or a related discipline) or equivalent practical experience, including an electrical license.
They should have an excellent understanding of electrical systems and infrastructure, and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Participate in regular operations and project meeting and assist in determining project priority and appropriate resource allocation;
- Ensure required permitting is in place for the projects within your control;
- For large projects, schedule Handover meeting and review project estimate and confirm that estimators vision of the work is valid;
- Prepare an overall project scheduling, including labour, material, and subcontractor inputs;
- Ensure appropriate purchase orders for required materials are processed through the Procurement Department;
- Participate in regular site meetings with the client and other trades on the project;
- Identify changes to the project specifications and work with estimating department to prepare change orders for approval by the client where required, ensuring work does not proceed without a signed change order;
- Coordinate with the site supervisor / foreman to ensure that the work stays on schedule, follows the agreed specifications, and materials flow as required;
- Prepare monthly quantity reports for billing and invoicing, and measurements of inputs (labour, materials, subcontractors) to track productivity and job status on sites;
- Work closely with Finance (monthly) to ensure proper job costing and accurate forecasts of costs and revenues to job completion;
- Spend sufficient time on the construction sites to ensure that all work is being accomplished in a timely safe fashion, with adherence to corporate safety standards and applicable legislation;
- Assist site supervisor / foreman in solving problems, and if required, provide on-site direction to ensure safe and timely execution of the work;
- Deal with customers issues as they arise and escalate significant issues to VP Operations;
- Complete a summary of each project, finalizing costs, warranty requirements and any outstanding issues, for review with the VP Operations;
For large project, schedule Post Contract Review meeting to review the project in detail and determine areas for improvements.

Qualifications :
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada.
Post secondary education as an Engineering Technician (civil or electrical or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience including electrical license;
Excellent understanding of electrical systems and infrastructure.
- At least 3 years experience in a similar role;
- Good understanding of budgets, labour and material planning and forecasting;
- Familiarity with desktop computer applications such as Word, Excel, and MS Project;
- Experience using various estimating software such as Accubid;
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment;
- Previous experience in a leadership role, such as supervisor or team leader, in providing direction to others;
- Good understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and Regulation, as it relates to the construction industry;
- Demonstrated skills as an effective communicator;
- Excellent ability to influence his / her subordinates, peers and superiors;
- Energetic with Positive Attitude;
