We are seeking a new member to join our team as :
Launch Engineer
- Manage assigned programs from concept to final build.
- Champion internal APQP meetings and open issues relating to assigned programs.
- Create PFMEA and control plans in accordance with the manufacturing procedure developed for new launch programs.
- Manage launch activities, such as run at rate, process development and all pre-production post-molding activities.
- Develop and implement cell and plant layouts as well as work and packaging instructions.
- Analyze, through use of CAD and other systems, the utilization, layout, workflow, shop-floor inventory control and material flow and initiate appropriate activities to implement and improve.
- Manage suppliers and coordinate the commissioning, sign-off and implementation of post-molding equipment and packaging (internal and customer, returnable and expendable).
- Schedule inter-plant and customer equipment, process and packaging reviews and sign-off.
- Manage the readiness of tryouts and measure and report the success and effectiveness of the tryout process.
- Work in coordination with the Scheduler and Program Managers to plan upcoming trials.
- Participate in cross-functional internal continuous improvement activities and document aspects of R&D for claiming purposes.
- Work in compliance with Quality Business Operating Systems, Health and Safety and Environmental legislations as well as in compliance with TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Complete any other duties as assigned.
This position requires the following minimum qualifications :
Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent.Recognized technical diploma in related area is preferred, or a combination of education, training and work experience will be considered.Experience with launch and support of secondary equipment or automation within an injection mold environment is preferredMust have 3-5 years' working experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of PLC programming, vision systems and 6 axis robots is an asset.Knowledgeable in integrated manufacturing technology, project management, work flow analysis, manual and automated assembly processes and customer requirements as they relate to the products under development and in production at Plasman's manufacturing facility.Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.Must be well skilled in Microsoft Office programs, with emphasis on MS Excel.Must be knowledgeable in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software (Solidworks preferred).
