The Assistant Servers focus will be to act asa support in all areas of Guest service delivery. Inprinciple their function will be threefold;
to prepare servingstations and work areas for each meal period assisting with thesmooth execution of meal service during peak times and offeringcontinued support in preparation for the next mealperiod.
The Assistant Server will be an integral part ofthe team.
- To have a full understandingof the food offering in the outlet and be proficient in explainingeach dish to the guest.
- To assist all Guests(internal and external) with any inquiries or requests in apleasant helpful manner
- To demonstrate acomplete understanding of policies procedures and set servicestandards as outlined in the Royal York Colleague Handbook andResource Guide
- To demonstrate a completeknowledge and understanding of all steps of service and duties andperform them to the set standards as outlined in the Job TaskChecklist
- To follow all of safety andsanitation policies when handling food andbeverage
- Attend preshift weekly and monthlymeetings to continually improve the Guestsexperience
- To understand how to operate all theequipment used in the outlet
- To fullyunderstand and follow the hotels recycling program andprocedures
- To follow all of safety andsanitation policies when handling food andbeverage
- Carrying out any miscellaneous dutiesand responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertaining toquality service delivered in therestaurant.
Qualifications :
- Previous workexperience in a restaurant / food and beveragesetting
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ateam player attitude
- Smart Serve trainingprogram certification an asset
- Must be age ofmajority to serve alcoholic beverages
- OTECcertificate an asset
- Flexibility with shifts ofthe Restaurant and Lounge dependant on businessdemands
- Willingness to learn new concepts andideas
- Smart Serve TrainingCertification
- Experience working in UnionEnvironment
- Must be willing to work varyingshifts
