Position Overview
Performs direct and indirect patient care activities and non-patient activities that are delegated and directed by the Therapist responsible for the care of the patient(s) and / or the Discipline Manager. Performs clerical duties for the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments as assigned. Performs reception and housekeeping duties in the departments as assigned.
Experience
- Previous direct care patient experience in an acute care Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Department preferred.
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)
Grade 12 education.Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program is required.Consideration may be given to individuals who are in the process of attaining an academic degree in Physiotherapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT).Certification / Licensure / Registration
Current CPR is required.Qualifications and Skills
Computer skills are required.Must be fluent in both oral and written English communication and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with people in a variety of settings.Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Physical Requirements
Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
